Hi Beamer,

I think you are right on. We were used as life floats for our former husbands so that they can look "normal" to the rest of society. Some of our X's suppress their sexuality and yes of course depression will be the end result and some will act out their sexuality behind their wives backs.

In the last few months I've experienced a flood gate of feelings about my sham marriage. After 18 years of suppressing my feelings and needs those feelings can at times be overwhelming but I'm allowing myself to finally feel.

Where all these feelings will take me I have no idea but I suspect just the fact that I'm feeling has to be a lot better for my overall emotional and physical health than trying to squash my needs.

It is scary and at the same time liberating. When I look at my future I see hope and light and can't wait to get to a point in my life where I can finally say.... okay... I survived this and it feels good!
