Hi Thomas,

Thank you for sharing your story and I do understand why men try to hide their gay orientation especially if they grew up during the 1940's, 50's and 60's as my former husband did.

No, I do no hate gay men and never have. What I hate are all the lies and hurt that has been done in the name of appearing "normal and straight." I am 58 years old and have absolutely no desire to ever get involved with another man again.

The devastation that my husband has done to himself and me is for me beyond repair, The rejection of my femininity all those years have taken a terrible toll on me and frankly I have very little respect for any man.

Am I bitter, yes and no. There are some folks who say go out and meet a guy and have all the sex you've missed out on for 18 years and even the phrase "slut phase" has been bantered around. That is not for me. It not that cut and dry for me.

Honestly I have no energy left for men or male companionship. I'd rather spend an evening with my dog than be with a man. I have a wonderful family and some friends who have stuck by me throughout the terrible dark times, but there are friends I've known for years who have basically abandoned me and that has hurt me deeply. I thought they were friends but it turns out they never were.

I respect your honesty with your former girlfriend but not all men are like that. My former husband to this day denies his homosexuality and I don't believe he will ever admit his sexual orientation to anyone, especially to himself because that would be just too scary.

Its much easier for him to tell me that I'm crazy and how dare I question his sexuality.

Well enough said. Once again thank you for sharing your story.
