My son is 11 and fully aware that the reason his step-father is gone is because he lied about being gay....I'm not good about holding back when I'm upset and he heard more than he really needed to.
My daughter is 3 and just knows Daddy is gone. I don't know what I'll tell her when she's older and asks why the marriage ended if her father is still hiding the fact he's gay or bi. Knowing me, the truth as much as she needs to know for the moment.
My son is angry ay his step-dad...to the point of expressing the wish that his step-dad comes to painful violent harm....I told him to only say those things when his sister isn;t around. He tried to express his feeling to his step-dad thru email. The jackass wrote back to me and accused me of writing it myself and using my son as a cover. My son was devestated that yet again his step-dad ignored him. This was a man my son loved like a father, and he sees his own dad with regularity. My husband either can't or won't see that his actions are affecting the kids....he's living in his own little world I suppose.
