First. So Sorry. After a year in Iraq you deserve a damn sight better.

It COULD be that you have been replaced with a 'safe pair of hands' due to that years seperation. But I'm afraid that I doubt it. My wife, who is also 'not gay', was living with and sleeping with her lesbian g/f in our bed.

I take it that the best friend IS gay? If so, then the chances of them NOT being at it like bunnies is pretty bloody small. Lesbians want to bond, quickly, through sex and they dont have to worry about getting pregnant.

I would be blunt. Straight questions. Ask. Have you had sex with her? If she evades then the answer is yes. The 'emptiness' from her in the marriage before your deployment is another typical indicator of an emerging mid life lesbian. Dont carry the can for it. This is in no way your fault, the transfer of blame 'you didnt fulfil me emotionally' is also typical. Sorry

She does not want to work on the marriage. But does not want it to end? Wants you as a security blanket? Is she having sex with you? Probably not I guess. Well, if it walks on 4 legs and barks its a dog. If shes in love with and having sex with her girlfriend she is gay. You dont need her to admit it to know it.

Whether to go for divorce is your call. Some spouses put up and shut up. Some have open marriages but stay together. Some people work at it. On percentage terms most Lesbians, admitted or not, cut and run - but most of the time it is down to us to divorce them. They wont accept the responsibility.
