Alison,

I certainly agree that there is a particular kind of disillusionment when your spouse, who you thought you knew for all those years, turns out to be someone else entirely.

And that it is probably harder after XX years together than if it had been early in the relationship. It has been for me.

And yet, when that most successful MMTL's wife came out around age 60, he said, "Fine. You're a lesbian. When is dinner going to be on the table?"
