I too have read 2-3 years. Its more like a death than anything else for me, and thats about average for grief. For guys however, in general we seem to get through this faster than women. The issues are different, and as has been observed the onset of TGT is comparatively more sudden for us than for the female straight spouses who have been living unknowingly with a 'well closeted or in denial' gay man for many years. Having to stay in touch with them, due to children, compounds the problem for both sexes though.

I dont want to waste 2 years - I feel cheated enough already! But I know it may take that long to fix the underlying failures in me that led to me being attracted to her, and for staying with her, when I should have called 'time' long ago.

My first post is somewhere below Maxpain, its worth comparing how far I have come. Its a rollercoaster to be sure, but it does smooth out. You will be OK.
