I've been feeling that way too; almost overwhelmed by the thought of it at times.
Maybe *everyone* is coming out because it's o.k. to do so these days?? Just a thought...
I do feel compassion for those who have had to suppress so much for so long. (My guy waited 80 years!) It's just so sad to be told that someone you loved was't the person you thought they were AND, further, that the attraction they once had for us has TOTALLY VANISHED. I mean: It's not like a breakup of a bad relationship; we can all understand that. It's an impossible situation when the now Gay man still wants to be 'The Best Friend Ever For Life' in a 100% platonic way. Yike! It's 'mind blowing' - to say the least. I realize I can't be his 'friend' under these circumstances; his friendship comes with baggage. He is so 'high' on his new freedom that he is not aware that he crosses 'boundaries'.
Keeping a 'safe distance' emotionally and physically is working for me these days.
