That advice is very helpful! I think feel afraid that I am spiraling downward when the tears return. I do not want to go back to that place of intense grief and depression. I most likely need to remember that the tears will reappear from time to time, especially when my kids are away, but that that doesn't mean I am heading back to day one. Recovery from this is so hard -- a few steps forward and then some back. I hope one day my tears will turn to laughter and I will be in a truly different, positive place. At this point, there is still a lot of pain.
