I live in Utah and in my area there is only one Gastroenterolgy office and they only use Versed. Any ideas on how I can change any minds?

Unless they have a CRNA to administer propofol, you are probably out of luck. My husband had his first one with a little painkiller (fentanyl) only and his second with nothing; he did fine. Most gastros "insist" on sedation because the exam is easier and faster for them to do (truth: most guys are plumbed straighter than women and handle colonoscopy unsedated just fine.) Also, a lot of healthcare people get theirs unsedated, it's a "secret" option. I had a doc who was confident and gentle who did mine unsedated; a few gas pains but fine. And I had the option of propofol for free but skipped it.
