P. Scottye Hedstrom, 49, an entertainment lawyer and television executive, was found dead of natural causes July 19 in her Burbank home.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office is conducting tests to determine the specific cause of death.

Hedstrom spent 11 years with Walt Disney/Touchstone Television, beginning in 1985. She became vice president for network television business affairs, negotiating on personnel and production for "Home Improvement," "Ellen" and other network programs.

She then became an independent consultant for Studios USA, Rysher and DreamWorks and most recently worked for the consulting firm Stasson & Associates.

A native of Newport News, Va., Hedstrom earned a bachelor's degree in political science at William and Mary College, a master's in journalism at the University of Missouri and a law degree at the University of Virginia.

She worked as a newscaster in Cayce, S.C., and after becoming a lawyer for Los Angeles' O'Melveny & Myers. She also worked at Sloan, Juppin & Ament as counsel for the soap opera "Santa Barbara."
