Hello Mom of 2,
Sorry to respond late to your post I'm kinda new here.
Yes, my daughter (now 17) has used the A.C.E. We first got started on it when I took my daughter out of public school in 6th grade. We used it for a couple of years but later moved on to others trying to find the "right" one for her. In my opinion, the A.C.E. is slower paced and didn't give enough of a challenge. I found it to be rather repetitive, so if repetition is something you may need it'll be a good one for you, as far as that's concerned. I never much needed any teaching helps so I'm not sure how they are for this. I do believe they are accredited, and for the later years of school this really helps out. They keep track of the grades from year to year; I think they actually require you to send in a grade sheet twice per year. They are very heavy into sentence diagramming in the 8th - high school, so if this is something you feel you can handle the Language would be good to go with. (Personally I'm very bad at the diagramming so this was very difficult for me.)
I have used Abeka also. The two curriculums are like night and day, Abeka being more advanced and faster pace where A.C.E just the opposite.
We've tried A.C.E., Abeka, Alpha Omage, (as well as the Switched on Schoolhouse), Bob Jones and now k12 for my youngest (8 yr. old). Personally I love the Abeka Biology (10th grade) and the Bob Jones History.
Hope this will be helpful to you in your search.
Barbara C. :-)
