Hiya, Amy,
My daughter is in her senior year of college. She is attending on full tuition scholarship. She got that by scoring well on her SAT's and then going through an interview process at the college.
No matter what kind of official "schooling" you do, (we did unit studies), you will need to write some kind of transcript. I gave my children credits for items that looked familiar to recruiters. If you are interested in a copy of her transcript (without grades of course), I will be glad to send you one.
My son is also attending a computer technical college. He did not qualify for any scholarships, but he is also doing just fine. He had to take entrance tests, but so did every other student that attended that school. All the testing did was prove that he did not need any remedial math or reading.
They also were emphatic about wanting a transcript. It was funny. I gave them a copy of his transcript before he graduated and they made me give them another one after his graduation. Since the 2 transcripts were identical except for a date of graduation, it sure seemed silly to me.
When you do "non traditional schooling", you can still give your student credit for everything she does. You can use the terminology that schools use. If you have writing assignments and you correct those writing assignments, you will probably qualify for English 9, 10, 11 and 12.
Anyway, that's my 2 cents in a nutshell. If you want more details, let me know!
