Debra,
Whether you have your daughter take her GED is up to you and the college she wishes to attend. Some colleges require it. A good option is have your daughter attend a local community college; most are willing to work with homeschooled students to help them make the transition plus you have a transcript to use if she transfers somewhere else. We had our son take his GED last July but it was because he was goofing off at our community college and we were worried he'd quit then have nothing to "prove" he completed high school. My suggestion: Check with the college / trade school she wants to attend; they would know best how to advise you so your daughter will succeed.
