Does anyone know how the players feel : that the school has done the right thing and the two players given an appropriate second chance; or that the decison was wrong for the school and the team? Will the two players be welcome back whole heartedly by the team or will even that be an issue?

Posters present two contrasting views of the situation.
Many believe that the proper analysis - whether a good decision which supports the student players based upon their
character and the merits of their cases,or a very poor one
which trades principle for football ,turns on unknown facts.

Given that uncertainty and what some could see as a cloud hanging over the school unnecessarily and to its detriment,
what has the coach done /said to explain the decision to the public?? Should he come forward and say provide a more complete expanation? Is at least that much owed to the fans, student body , alunmni ,and team?

Explanation??? Forget about it and move on, the kids have paid a high price and nothing more needs to be aired. Get a life and find some other event to wring your hands over.

The matter is important and does not lend itself to the
usual ad hominem rejoinders common to the board . This is
about more than 2 students .It is about the integrity of the program , the welfare of the female students entrusted to the school and doing the right thing . Isn't the right thing for the coach to present the facts and make clear the
basis for the schools's decision . If this has never happened before and the student's records are sterling , why keep it a secret?

No question will they both be welcomed back with open arms. If it is true that they are suspended a game then that is one game too many. People think that they are getting special treatment because Jordan is a star, that is absurd. If they were regular students nobody would have heard about this. Don't believe it if you don't want to, but this type of stuff happens regularly on college campuses (put your noses down, Colgate too). Was it wrong? yes. Did they learn their lesson? yes. Will they do it again? no. So why suspend them? I, and the rest of my teammates, and all non football playing students who have met them, stand behind them 100 percent, so you guys might as well.

Then go root for another team... I think the team can handle going from 3,000 in the crowd to 2,999.

How about some football? Any insights on the incoming frosh?
Plenty of talent coming in at RB and LB including a Fla
LB whose name on I only noticed in the last month - Brian
Provost , to go with several other top performers . Looks like a real passer at QB coming in as well . One of the good
looking frosh rb s , Kenny McKenzie has real speed which can open up a field and a game . An obvious special teams candidate , but any chance as rb and / or receiver on at
least some offensive plays? Key position this year may be
at rush DE . What do posters think ?
