Subject: Lights at Andy Kerr Stadium

Prior to this summer it was indicated that lighting was to be installed at Andy Kerr Stadium.

Did that happen?

I drove by Andy Kerr about a month ago and the lights were there awaiting installation. It looked like the electrical work was being done to the stadium prior to erecting the towers.

We get to preview the experience at Stoney Brook, Coastal Carolina and Fordham in anticipation of using them probably either later in a playoff hmome game..I hope..or lax season..Maybe a scheduled home game next year? NO times listed for next season yet..

Big deal, you will get maybe 300 more for your first game with lights. Maybe even 1,000. And then the novelty will be over, people will not like getting home late on a Saturday and the party will be over.
Having lights is not going to improve attendance, which is a disgrace to the PL.

Colgate fans are in no position to be discussing any kind of disgrace to the league are they? More of a disgrace to the school but certainly it affects the image of the entire league, the recent outrage. Not the act so much as the response.

Those Lehigh fans are jealous they don't have lights, a turf field, decent scoreboard, etc. First Lafayette, now Colgate, next Holy Cross, in a few more years Lehighs facility will be as bad as their football team.

I can remember doing that at Colgate, but never on a football Saturday. I always found some way to a tunk before game time. Ah, memories...

Student interest in basketball night at is pretty darn meager. Student interest in football during the day is bad.
I hear the same thing from friends who went to other PL schools. Lafayette may be the biggest exception to that rule. Lehigh gets some big crowds but they are probably more alumni and others than students.
Georgetown may have the smallest crowds in the league for football. The program does not have the history of others, yet.

on the bright side, i also remember some pretty raucous crowds for those two playoff games in horrendous weather in December a few eyars back. I don't think i've ever been that cold in my life. Some students were shirtless. So if you win, and you are able to host playoff games, (which hopefully are now more of a possibility then before with the turf and lights) you will have an exciting environment to play football in.
