Its possible he could have developed a sensitivity to one of the products you are using... the only way I know to figure that out is to replace one of the products with something else for a while.

also possible.. does the clippers need cleaned or sharpened? It could be causing irritation.. also are you using any kind of lubricating oil or something on the clippers? He could be having a reaction to that.

Being that the irritation doesnt last long, my first suspiscion would be something to do with the clippers. I would try first just letting him go hairy for a while.. if he doesnt break out from a shampoo and lotion, you know then it has something to do with the clippers... if "not shaving" doesnt help then work on ruling out either the shampoo or the lotion.

BTW, a lil children's benedryll helps with razor burn.
