Many people keep their puffs in hairless cuts. I have two, one puff and the other a very hairy hairless, that during the summer months I keep in a hairless cut. They both have curly (incorrect) coats that matt with the blink of an eye.

Harry, on the other hand, has a perfect puff coat. He never matts. I've been told some of this is due to his having a dark coat, but I don't know how true that is. I will tell you that when I shaved Harry down after bringing him home (so his coat would grow in uniformly...he got an awful grooming job done at the vet's office), he HATED the breeze on his behind, but that was mostly likely because he'd never been cut down before (I have another puff who's been shaved down twice & both times he refused to eat for a week unless I hand fed him and it wasn't until he had a little fuzzy regrowth on his butt that he got back to normal). I swear neither Harry or Bandit's tails came out from between their legs until they had a fuzzy butt.

Harry did make a gorgeous hairless, but let me tell you, when his coat is fully grown out, he's gonna be even more stunning than he is now.

In my opinion, puff males are the absolute best of this breed. I've had them all here, and puffer boys are my absolute favorite. They are the sweetest, most loving, goofy little goobers. But, if you really want a hairless, then that's what you should get. Cresties are like potato chips, you can't have just one so you could always make your next one a puff. :o)

Hopefully I can get this to work right the first time...here's a couple of pics I took of Harry just last week.
