 My mexican hairless does the same thing sometimes...I think it might be a combo of drinking too fast and being excited...He will cough alittle then kind of strech out his neck and hack :-) I usually pat him softly on his underside of his chest and talk to him...When he had a cold it was much worse. The vet said something about recessive breathing?
