In December I got a HL CC. She's tiny, at only 4.5 pounds and is estimated to be full grown. I have another dog and the two get along great. My CC was left in the cold to die and then picked up by a man who left her in a cage and when he did give her any attention, it was usually to beat her. Needless to say she is VERY fearful of men. Many times if she sees a man she freezes in fear and just shakes. She gets along well with my immediate family, even with my 5 year old nephew. My question is how to I go about socializing her to overcome her fear of men and strangers? I was going to enroll her in an obedience class but felt that it was too soon and it wouldn't be effective yet. Also, I see the average size of CC is 6-12 pounds. Is one being 4.5 normal, or could it be due to her neglect? My vet doesn't seem to concerned but she is really tiny.
