I honestly don't know if they get itchy as they grow back...I've been shaving my kids for years and I've never noticed that it seems to bother them when the hair starts growing back in.
No he does not need his whiskers, we shave their faces regularly.
Unfortunately, it really depends on the individual dog as to shampoo, lotion, etc. What works for one may not work for the other. Also, do you need to address any particular skin issues, such as blackheads, pearly cysts, etc.? A good non-soap product to use is Cetaphil, but won't help to address any particular skin issues. You can search our archives and find tons of posts on skin-related issues and products we use/recommend for any given problem.
