Although it's rather unsightly, I took a couple of 1.500" by 1.900" by .125" thick pieces of O-1 tool steel from work and beveled the edges on a belt sander, then I roughed up the case with some course sandpaper, mixed up a batch of 1hr 2 part epoxy and applied it to the steel, then I carefully applied it to the case (overlapping the hinge to the part where it starts curveing down and away from you.)
I only wish I did it a year ago, mine had almost cut all the way across the left hinge by the time I did this and I could see the crack open and close every time I opened it.
It's held up for at least 4 mo with no further "flexing of the crack." (which drove my nuts!)
Hope this helps
Bryan
