Subject: IMP: Incomplete recs that need info for bookmarking

Once again, I'm posting this in the interests of saving these recs from oblivion.
The main reason they are not up is because ratings haven't been given - if its a G, that still has to be mentioned, and if you don't know, just make a guess. The other reasons are spoilers, links, and author names. Feel free to post any other info you think I should add.

Deepa D.

Incomplete Recs

"Fool Me Twice" by Gyrus
http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=273143
The sequel to "Inside", Majingojira thought it was a “nice little story. I don't think it's as good as the first one, but it's still pretty damn good!”

"In Search of Myself" by Nameless Dreamer
http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=488139
Majingojira thought it followed the Xander-centric Formula pretty well, but it deviated in certain important areas, and she well it was well written enough for most people to get by it.

"Learning to Be careful" by Mims
http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=596072
Work-in-Progress, B/X A Xander POV. Majingojira summarizes, “Though the fic gets off to a rocky start, it gets better as it goes around - and most importantly, it's got Spike being evil with the chip in. Mims tortures the characters in this...First by showing Xander a world where Joyce didn't die - where everyone it actually HAPPY, and then it is ripped away from him.”

“Controlled Panic” by s. a.
http://archive.shriftweb.org/archive/7/controlledpanic.html
[S3, with foreshadowings of later] Oz/Willow, that first time, recced by Debra. Kate seconded with, “it's just plain scrummy.”

“Domestication” by Indie
www.sunflower.com/~indie/...index.html
It's B/A eventually, so be aware, “It's got perfect dialogue and characterisation and the writing skills of the author are just awesome,” said Jill. Nerf seconded, “it's a well built AU”

“Les Noyades” by Elena
http://archive.shriftweb.org/archive/3/lesnoyades.html
[Post S5 Finale] Recced Connie, “This is actually part two of a series called After the Fall by Elena, but to my mind this is the best part. The series is done from various POVs and deals with the world of the Scoobies after Buffy's death in The Gift.”

“A Place So Bitter” by
http://www.angelfire.com/tv2/dbtd/placesobitter.htm
[PG-13, till end S6, WIP] This piece has an interesting twist to the season 6 finale which involves Spike and his soul. Jamie Beth recced, “The plot drew me in, but the thing I enjoyed the most is the fact that the characters' voices are so dead-on that this story could be an episode.” Mona seconded, “while the premise takes it into AU-territory, it is worth the read. Splendid characterisation, indeed! All of the characters' voices ring true and are skilfully balanced; finally, due emphasis on Willow, Xander and Dawn. Plus, a promising storyline - nice to once again meet cool villains of the past that have been dangling around all loose-end-y.”

“Brave New World” by Fayjay
http://archive.shriftweb.org/archive/5/bravenew.html
[S3] A look at Wesley's fragile psyche when he first arrives in Sunnydale. Juanita recced, “it makes Wesley's confidence collapse and subsequent pomposity believable, and Wes himself a sympathetic character (though to me he always is).”

“The Burning Sequence” by Fayjay

A series of four stories dealing with Darla's resurrection:

Ashes: http://archive.shriftweb.org/archive/1/ashesburning.html

Embers: http://archive.shriftweb.org/archive/1/embersburning.html

Smoke: http://archive.shriftweb.org/archive/1/smokeburning.html

Flames: http://archive.shriftweb.org/archive/1/flamesburning.html

Juanita recced, “All is wonderful and accurate. From Darla's response to her new humanity, to Lindsey's obession with both her and Angel, Drusilla's
foresight in part four. It's brilliant with moments of humour, pathos
and spectacular insight.

“The Sexy/Evil Club” by FLuFFy
http://fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=846407
Recced Katta, “it's a parody, showing a potential season starter for AtS, and it's actually *funny*. (Parodies, for some reason, don't tend to be.) I laughed out loud.”

“Summertime” by s.a.
http://archive.shriftweb.org/archive/8/summertime.html
[S6] Post-"Grave" vignette. Buffy reflects on six years of summers mostly not spent in
Sunnydale. Recced Debra, “A low-stress fic for the hot weather, the sort of piece that's a lot harder to do well than most writers who attempt them seem to think.”

”His Childe” by Kallysten
http://www.fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=847438
[NC-17, WIP] It explores the possibility of Buffy being turned by Spike. Recced Lyn, “even though I was not very convinced by the first 1-2 chapters it becomes quite addictive after that! Especially good is the triangle Spike/Buffy/Angel, which is handled very well and is dealt with in a realistic, believable way.”

"Antitype" by Sarah T.
http://www.aliencorn.net/stories/antitype.html
[S6 till "Grave"] A lovely Giles piece filling in the space between ‘Tabula Rasa’ and ‘Two to Go.’ Recced Melissa, “Gives an interesting new twist to Grave.”

”Stray Birds” by
[NC-17, S6/S3, specifically "The Price" and "Hell's Bell's"] Xander/Wesley. Solace, indeed. Recced by Brenna

“Leather Care” by Wendy
http://u01wmd.supanet.com/fic/leathercare.html
[R] Farscape/Angel crossover. Faith, Aeryn and a pair of boots. Recced by Wendy

“Tripod” by Dolores & Kate Bolin
http://www.spiderplant.fsnet.co.uk/fic/tripod.html
[NC-17] Recced by Wendy, who said, “ an old personal favourite, and one that deserves so much adulation. Perfect example of humour fic.”

I like your ratings. I'm not familiar with the American system at all.

Allow me to help. The story is firmly in the PG-13 realm for language and violence--hey, it's Faith. The only spoilers would be up through "Sanctuary" on "Angel." It's more of an action story than "Inside," which was an intense character exploration of Faith, but Gyrus (my good buddy and Fight Scene Coordinator) still manages to get into her head better than just about anyone else I've seen. Anyway, it's fabulous.

That help you any?

This Fic is rated PG-13, cuz it's like the show in levels of Angst, Violence and Language.

I think that's it.

Pairings: B/S, initially B/A but Angel-lovers beware!

Sorry. I guess I should have read some FAQ instead of just doing like the people before me.

So: "The Sexy/Evil Club" by FLuFFy
http://fanfiction.net/read.php?storyid=846407
PG-13
spoilers for the Angel season 3 finale.
Hilarious parody with, among other things, Wesley in a cape, Cordelia in good hair, and Angel singing "Under the sea". Some mild slash.
