Personally I find the concept of sexually explicit RPF extremely objectionable. It crosses a line, in my opinion, between acceptable and not. So I basically agree with the distinction people are making between RPF with sex and RPF without sex (and I agree with the addition of the third poll option to support it).

So I originally voted for the new third option.

However, I also believe in free speech. And after reading what Kate wrote -- although I totally disagree with her that there's no difference -- I decided to change my vote. Because this is a rec list, not an archive or a fic list, and people should be free to rec what they want to rec. As with any fic that's recced on the list, I have the choice of reading it or not reading it. As long as it's clear from the rec that this is RPF, the bases are covered and the choice is still mine.

So now I'm voting on the "RPF can be recced" side, but it doesn't represent an endorsement of RPF on my part. More of an "I don't like what you say but I'll defend your right to say it" type thing.

So do you have anything to add to the debate, Smash, or are you just gonna jump in with pointless snark?

I am on crack and misread messages.

Sorry, Smash. I will leap before I look again.
