I don't own a boerboel but I do own a dog that had separation anxiety. There is a book written by a DVM and he is also an animal behaviorist, his name is Nick Dodman and the book is "The Dog Who Loved Too Much". In that book there is a chapter on separation anxiety. It may be helpful to you if the urinating and or deficating is happening while you are not home. That is a tell tail sign of separation anxiety. It may not be housebreaking at all. It wasn't with my dog, it was separation anxiety. Once we figured out the problem we worked with an animal behaviorist and helped our dog with his problem. One of the things she had us do is video tape our dog when we were gone. She was also very clear that there should be absolutely no punishment when we came home and found a mess(we were not doing that anyway). Hope this helps. Jenifer
