Lucinda...what will you take for him?? LOL

I have the same 'problem' with Tigg, when he really gets a stomping by some cow, he feels compelled to run her down and give her some schooling...although it can look a little hard on stock, I am inclined to let him have his way on this. The way I see it, he is the one getting the stuffing knocked out of him, if he can impress the cow enough, she will have much more respect for him and my other dogs the next time.
However, any good momma-cow will stand and fight dogs over her new calf, and I never allow a hard biting dog to get one of those monsters stirred up...we handle them with velvet (Border Collie) gloves. There is a time and a place to 'school' stock...but there are also times the lesson isn't worth the price you may have to pay.
Lucinda, keep in mind, if Boet the wonder dog gets TOO rough for your poor, mild-mannered sheep...he can come live with me.
