I have the dew claws removed when we dock the tails at 3 days of age. Dew Claws on an adult boerboel can sometimes get damaged while running through rough country, and they will ALWAYS put deep scratches on human legs when they try to get your attention by pawing at you.
Once the pups get a little age on them the removal of the dew claws becomes a little more involved and costly.
