Hearing the description and condition of the dog and seeing the dog were two very different things. I was told that she was a American Mastiff and it turns out that she is a Boerboel Mastiff. She has yeast infection in both ears, she has either a skin condition or she has been in dog fights. You can tell by her behavior she has been abused some how-the owner said by her X-husband. She has adjusted well to my Pug and plays with her, My Bouvier des Flanders who is male has established his dominance over her-she cowers, doesn’t bristles her hair on her back and rolls on her back. She has snapped at me and my husband on the first day we had her but we both came at her quick at an above angle. She handles the in and out of children in my home and is sweet with my 9 year old and 11year old. I was also told she had been hit by a car and had her leg broke, the truth is she had to have hip surgery. I just felt I had to Get this dog out of the environment that she was in and help her. But I can't keep her, I had to beg my landlord to allow the Bouvier in, he won’t budge on it.
We’ve taken her to the vet. And there are no heartworms or any other parasites.
We are lookinf for a home for her. We are in the Tampa area and do not know if there is anyone local.
