Hello Reece,
Welcome to the forum. Please do keep coming back to the forum and sharing your thoughts about John.
I became a fan of John's when Morse was shown here in the US in 1986. I knew I was watching an extraordinary man. He had a quality that I'd never sween or felt in any other actor,
the ability to reach out and touch the heart and soul of his audience on an individual basis. I knew nothing about him and had not seen him in anything else.
A friend in the UK sent me other performances by John ranging from Redcap, The Sweeney, and Stanley and the Women.
Seeing those I knew this was my favortie actor for life.
Your account of how watching John helped you with handling your dad's death is some thing, I ,think, all of us on the forum have experienced at some time. When you're down or going through a bad time, John is like " a bridge over troubled water."
Cheers, Karen
