Bloomsbury will publish a follow-up from Sheila Hancock to her bestselling memoir The Two Of Us in September. Entitled Just Me, the book is "a moving, honest and absorbing account of how she has dealt with life since the death of her husband, John Thaw", according to the publisher.
Bloomsbury editor in chief, Alexandra Pringle said: "Sheila Hancock has written the perfect follow up to The Two of Us. Trenchant and honest, often moving and always inspiring, it tells us about her life as actor, widow, mother, grandmother and lone traveller. It also illuminates our history and teaches us to seize life with both hands, whatever age we are."
The Two Of Us was a number one paperback bestseller, selling more than 725,000 copies through Nielsen BookScan, and Hancock won the British Book Awards' Author of the Year Award in 2005 for it. Just Me will be published in September 2008 in royal hardback, priced £18.99.
