don't know about fanfic.. but the reason it doesn't track is because many of the actor's were unavailable to make new footage draw the story to its original conclusion so they played with the facts to make what they had of footage work. Well, that's interesting. Any more info...like what was Turkey's motive since he wasn't on the ship with Diane? And who figured it out and got Harm off the hook? Not a lot of details, as I recall - not even sure the script had been written for the next ep. I think the part about Turkey not being on the ship was something added in DW. If I recall correctly Bud tells Mac this as they were researching things at JAG HQs - its not info from a flashback. I have trouble believing that Part 2 wasn't written, at least in story form, if not script. Not too many writers would write just the first part of a story like that and not know where they were going. And I'd like to read a story about that as well. Not to blow the theory, but you can't lift fingerprints from a glass and put them on a gun after the fact. My guess is that Turkey was in Harm's room to plant evidence of some sort, though. To frame Harm, he had to have come up with a motive for Harm to kill Diane. My guess is that it was a last minute idea, since until Harm showed up and almost lost his breakfast when he looked at Diane's body, Turkey didn't know that Harm existed much less knew Diane at all. Oh, I think DPB had a plan for the second half of Skeleton Crew. I read somewhere that the script was never written, but I can't imagine that there wasn't an outline done when they did part 1. My gut feeling is that Turkey was just trying to throw suspicion off himself and hadn't a clue what he was doing. Don't forget, he had already tried to set up Lt. Lamb with the faked suicide. My understanding is that Turkey's motive was along the lines of he'd tried to get her to date him; she'd rejected him, probably for Harm, and then she reported to the XO that she was being stalked.
