Death Watch – Season 3

What It's About

On a rainy night in Washington, Mac finally "meets" the ghost of Diane Schonke as Harm recounts the story of her death and his investigation into her murder.

Reasons to Watch – Diane's death and the way it affected Harm has been the basis for so many conversations and theories, you need to see it for yourself in order to make up your own mind. The contemporary byplay between Harm and Mac as Harm tells the story stands out as well. There's even a nice rescue by Bud.

Reasons to Tape – Let me count the ways. While this episode incorporates large portions of the fabled ep "Skeleton Crew," it's hardly a mere clip show. For shippers, it's "required reading" both for the closeness of the relationship (you can't imagine Harm sharing this with anyone else) and for the way they ultimately try to protect one another. For non-shippers, all the above apply with a nice, tight whodunit murder plot thrown in. You even get a healthy dose of Krennick.

"Death Watch" is one of my all-time favorite episodes of "JAG." Tight writing, close relationships and an intriguing story combine to make it one of the best. A shipper's delight - for many reasons. I wouldn't miss it.
