Lauderdale down to Miami without much problem. If you start going north or South of there you can start running into leases on treasure ships. However this only applies to water hunting and the dry and wet sands should still be ok. I do not know of any place that rents metal detectors - however I will rent you the one that I am selling for $75 for a week (shops charge $25 a day). Then at the end of your stay if you like the hobby - you can buy the machine and deduct the rent you paid from the price!! The Machine is listed further down on this page.
