Date Posted: 18:25:28 10/11/02 Fri In reply to: MODELL 's message, "HAULOVER BEACH" on 12:22:36 10/07/02 Mon I find it a bit trashy before the new sand was placed. But then again, I have found nice jewelry in dry trashy sand. Sometimes, I hunt north hauover before the butt-naked crowd arrives.I found a nice gold ring there last time I hunted it. Notably, Haulover is the first beach I ever hunted. I searched there first w/an old Relco in Dec.1967 (at age 15) & into 1969. Of course, the low end Relco I used would find mostly beer cans & my good finds then was usually by sight. Hence, it was a trashy place back then too. But it always produces & sometimes the coins found there are silver. New sand discourages that--but usually the new sand washes out in a few short years & the old coins will surface again admidst newly lost items. Kenneth >HAS ANYONE EVER HUNTED HAULOVER BEACH? HOW IS IT? OR >BY NEWPORT PIER? THANK YOU FOR ANY INFO AND >H.H........... [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
