Subject: I agree with what everyone has said - these years seem like ones full of deep melancholy and heavy depair - at the prison, there are the men, at Hellwater there are horses and then William - in that cave there was no one save Jamie and his aching and longing for Claire :o(

[> These passages are so vivid that you can almost smell the deer's blood and Jamie's sweat. As a child we three kids often camped out in the woods behind our home (120 acres) and I remember running barefoot in the moonlight and being able to see where we were going. It felt wild and yes, feral. Only the lights of our home or the lights of the campfire would bring us back. No way, could kids do that now. But wow, what a childhood. -- Marcie, Mon, February 20 2017, 8:47:31
