Subject: It’s so sad that somehow, because they both knew they were out of their own time, that Roger couldn’t call him Da. I guess maybe that would have kept Jerry from thinking of Dolly though and Roger didn’t want to take the chance of him getting lost in time. Does anybody know if Roger was older than Jerry at this point? The way Jerry refers to him as the dark man makes it seem that way to me.

Not totally sure about Roger's age, but he was definitely older than Bree when they met and at this point in the story it's about ten years or so from that time. -- TheresaB., Sat, November 06 2021, 6:03:23

[> [> [> Roger was born around 1936 or '38 (in 46 he was 8 or 10. Thinking 8 so call it 38) it was what 80/81 when R and J went back?? So Roger was 42/43 or so. Jerry would had been early/mid 20s. No more than early 30s. As for Roger's exact age we would have to CK the exact amount of time he spent in the past. But that's close enough. 🤔🤔🤪🤪 -- JamesG, Sat, November 06 2021, 8:41:55

[> [> [> [> Is there anyone doing a online (detailed) timeline of the books. I would love to do something like that but I'm not tech savvy enough to do it -- JamesG, Sat, November 06 2021, 8:47:06

[> [> [> [> [> James, I don't think there is a timeline online, although I didn't look at DG's website. There may be one on another Lallybroch group, but not sure. I looked in the Outlandish Companion and there isn't one there, in either volume. I think way back someone on LOL tried to put one together, but there were some inconsistencies. And I think DG intervened with a comment (MAYBE) that since she doesn't write in a linear fashion, that sometimes dates are slightly off, but not enough to affect the story. IIRC, there were some folks who were a bit upset about this, and again, IIRC, the subject was dropped. That doesn't mean that someone hasn't compiled a timeline, but if so, it is probably a tangled mess of spaghetti and computer cords - LOL! Again, this is just my faulty memory speaking. Someone else may know better. -- JudithONH, Sat, November 06 2021, 11:39:12

[> [> [> [> [> Actually, I just googled "Outlander Series Timeline" and several things popped up. I didn't look at them all, but they are out there if you want to put on your "Hector the Dectector" hat...LOL! -- JudithONH, Sat, November 06 2021, 11:43:10

[> [> I agree with you, Kathy, but as you said, Roger knew if he messed with Jerry's mind, he might not get back. I also find it interesting that the next part of the conversation is overheard by Jerry, that "he isn't going to make it back." How chilling for him to hear that! -- JudithONH, Sat, November 06 2021, 11:33:50
