I've just discovered Dean Koontz. I've read four of his novels and am on Demon Seed as my 5th. While I enjoy him greatly, I'm confused by this book.

Although written in 1973, how is it it's making reference to Microsoft's Bill Gates and Winona Ryder? Do I have a rewritten copy?
