We at PIRA also do not make use of psychics. There are too many variables when dealing with psychics, ghosts and science that it actually disrupts the investigation. We will "take into consideration" the feelings and impressions of our investigators, but we will not base the entire investigation on the visions of a psychic.

There is the "want it to be true" factor, which basically means that the person who believes (claims, swears) they are psychic wants to be right so bad...that they will jump on anything that will seem psychic. Simply pointing to a corner and saying "I feel the spirit here, yes..there she is...right there in the corner"...gives the psychic two outs. 1- if there is an orb or ecto captured on film, then the psychic is right! 2-if there is nothing found, then it's usually "the spirit moved...yes, she's not there any more."

It's extremely hard to verify a true psychic's ability. You really have to sit down and drill them. Only the serious will sit for this. Most of the ones I've dealt with have tucked thier tail between thier legs and ran for safer ground.
