>Dear Bonnie, I don't know if this will help not knowing what your teacher has taught about breathing while on your horse, but I have taught small children, and the first thing I teach them while on the horse is to breath from the diaphram.. This helps keep the center of gravity in the center and low. They must also keep their feet out in front of them just a bit at first until they are centered. Your breathing is very important. When breathing from the chest people seem to get more excitable quicker relating that to the horse which makes the problem worse.Being well centered will cure the problem. I too am 50 and started riding late in life. I read everything I can find but also found myself on the ground a few times and this really helped me... Hope it helps Dj
