Well it sounds like your an older woman with "less" riding expierence. I've been riding for 8 years (I'm under 16)and bolting cannot be avoided. It's a good idea to work on the ground with him doing trail. You should send him to your friend for awhile and see if she can get some sense into this "bolt horse"
