Subject: Help!

I had decided to keep a nylon halter on a minature donkey I just purchased in an effort to tame her down and be able to move her to a different pasture if need be. I recently discovered that it has caused an allergic reaction. The hair has been pulled off where the halter was and the skin is very raw. The animal is very uncomfortable in the Florida weather with the heat and gnats, mosquitoes, etc. I am covering the skill with udder balm twice a day that I hope will help heal and keep away the gnats, etc. and recently began giving the animal a powdered antibotic (mixed with grain) that I was using for another horse with a hoof problem (thanks to a overzealous farrier). I have also switched her feed to a 16% protein since she is not eating much hoping this will keep up her health. Any other ideas that may help? Thanks
