Subject: Proud Cut?

I bought a gelding 3 years ago. I had an older mare when I got him and we never had any problem with him when she would come into heat. We had to put her down last year and my gelding was very upset. Well, I finally decided to get another mare, because my fiance and I like to ride together and it's really hard when you only have one horse. So I found a nice Quarter Horse mare and within a couple of days of bringing her home she went into heat. Well, we found out that my gelding isn't actually a true gelding. He's not aggressive towards any of us, or even the mare. The only incident we've had is when my neighbor put his young stud in with him a couple years ago he chased him out of the field and down the road. He didn't actually hurt him, though. He actually mounted my mare the other day and when I grabbed her halter and pulled her away *he on a lead tied up close to her, this is when we found out he wasn't a true gelding* he didn't fuss or anything. He just stood where he was and never kicked or bucked or anything. I guess my question is, should I do what everyone says and get rid of him? As I said, he's not aggressive towards anyone or my mare. He's actually surprisingly easy to handle even with her only about 15 feet away. I really need some advice on this. I just don't want him to become a problem. Another thing, he has never tried to break out of his stall or go through a fence to get to her. The only time he gets upset is when she's out of sight, but it's more of a worried upset, and he's still not hard to handle. I don't want to get rid of him but I want to do what's best for everyone involved. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
