Subject: Nervous horse

Hi. My 10 year old Appaloosa is very nervous. He was used by previous owner for eventing. Now I just trail ride on him. He is obediant and does what you tell him, but sweats up (1/2 hour ride, dripping wet!) wants to jig-jog home, tries to gallop when we canter, and basically won't relax. Is this just his nature? He also gets nervous sweats in other situations, e.g horse floats (though he loads fine, like I said he's obediant), and also if left alone in paddock while his friend is being ridden. He sweats and starts trembling all over. Any help?
