Subject: Young horse getting worse - not better

I bought a three year old mare about a month ago. She is only green broke. I have been doing a lot of groundwork with her -hoping to establish a leadership role in doing so. However, she was doing really well leading and on a longe line for awhile - now she is acting up. By acting up I mean that she gets into corners of the arena when longing (ignoring me) with her back to me - aiming to kick. She's never kicked me - just jabbed at me. She does fine for her trainers, but not me. I wonder if I am doing something wrong, or does she think that she is the leader?
