Subject: Horses and allergy to Skin-So-Soft ???

Hi, I am leasing a horse from a friend who recently had the horse moved to a different farm. The owner of the farm for some unknown reason is constanting looking "to blame me for things that happen at the barn". Well, I went to ride Angie and had put Avon Skin So Soft on her to repel bugs before the trail ride.Two hours later I return, I untacked Angie etc...groomed her etc and she looked great. WELL LATER THAT EVENING THE FARM owner then calls my friend and tells her "Call Linda and find out what she put on the horse, she has hives all over the place! Then she told me friend, she "hosed" Angie down and she was fine. SO MY QUESTION IS.. HOW LIKELY IS A HORSE TO GETS HIVES FROM THE SKIN SO SOFT,and appx. how long would it take for hives to show up if she truly was allergic! I USED IT BEFORE ON ANGIE AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM.
