Och well remember Roger grew up in the middle classes of the 50s and 60s and it was a fairly new concept, wives going out to work then. By the time I got married in 1969 it was accepted as the done thing mostly. Out here in Australia though women had to leave the teaching profession and some others if they got married! Quaint! Led to rumours about one of my kid's teachers , Miss Paterson, being the news of the school as being pregnant but luckily it turned out she'd been married to Mr Soanso for quite a while!
