Subject: A Leaf on the Wind of All Hallows...

...that's the working titel of the story about Roger Mac's parents. It's in an anthology called STAR-CROSSED LOVERS and will be out in about a year or so.

And we have already the first excerpt --> Msg # 65414.79

After reading Echo it makes sense. I, for myself, am eagerly awaiting it.

[> Now I've got to go reread the part where Claire tells Roger about what Frank told her about the missing pilot. My first response is to wonder why Frank wouldn't make a connection between Rev. Wakefield and this lieutenant when Roger is introduced? Well, maybe not. Lots of Mackenzies, I suppose. -- Ellen P., 15:20:58 10/20/09 Tue

[> [> Frank is a selfish, self-centred turd who wouldn't much remember a nobody Scot pilot (The Rev is English and a historian). There is a lot more of Black Jack in Frank than Claire knows, he just has a 1900's civilized veneer on him. -- Jayn, 16:29:03 10/23/09 Fri

[> [> [> But how do you Really feel about Frank *g*. Actually, I'm not a fan of Frank and wasn't from the beginning, even before Claire met Jamie. Anyway, I'm so excited about this excerpt and cannot wait to see more of this story. Diana keeps finding new ways to draw us in. -- MairiS, 22:25:09 10/27/09 Tue

[> [> [> Not a Frank lover, are you? I'm with you on the BJR part. There is certainly a bit from him in Frank, but isn't it a bit in us all? Even Herself admitted it on more then one occasion. All in all, I do not think Frank is a bad guy. -- Carmen, 05:40:44 11/14/09 Sat

Which book did Claire tell Roger what Frank said about the missing pilot?

[> [> Although not one of the 4 over-arching story lines in Echo, this mystery qualifies as another cliff hanger in my book. We knew from the beginning that Frank was working for English Intelligence during the war, so he might have known of other covert operations. Sorry, met my character limit, more inside...... -- Missa, 14:57:37 11/14/09 Sat

It's Claire who surprises me that ~she~ did not make the connection. Frank would have known the story if it's true that Roger's father was also doing some kind of undercover work. I think by her revelations, Claire just opened the door that tiny crack. I'm guessing (hoping!) Roger pushes it all the way open and we find there is/was some connection between Frank and Jerry Mac. More intrigue..........and more material for a book 9 if I have my way!

[> This is delightful, seeing two characters meet each other who you never expected would meet. Like Briana facing off against Laoghaire. It's like DG is shuffling the cards and seeing which two faces come up together. Fun stuff. -- Amy, 18:26:56 10/28/09 Wed
