Subject: I'm curious why everyone thinks this scene is so soon after Echo? I read it initially happening a few days later at least. I don't think J hit LJ over the 'carnal knowledge' (think he would react emotionally not violently). TBH I can't see J hitting LJ for any reason other than to protect him ie convince the other rebels LJ is truly a prisoner. While J is a violent man he is not a 'beater'.

[> [> This is true, Jayn. I think the timeline details at the end of ECHO were intentionally blurred, to enhance the discombobulation. I also recall Diana saying on CompuServe that when she 1st began writing the continuation of Jamie & John's scenes that she was surprised to find Ian involved. So if someone did in fact hurt Lord John, it might not have been Jamie that did it. I also read the excerpt with Jamie & John with a feeling that there's events in the middle between "Oh? Why?" and this particular scene. -- Tess, 16:45:45 03/09/10 Tue
