There haven't been any comments about the Graphic Novel. Has anyone read it?

I'm not a huge GN fan so it seemed really odd and a bit awkard to me. The characters look so cartoonish (NOT knocking the artwork, just the form) and there are places where the dialogue is almost too simplistic.

That said, I was intrigued by the additional storyline and characters. The next couple of books are going to be really interesting!!

I was disappointed. After all the info on getting the characters just right -- all the fine-tuning of Jamie's chin for example -- most of the time the faces were round and cartoonish. I also found Claire's absolutely humongous boobs to be continually annoying. And, I agree with Sheree on the simplistic dialogue -- just not what I'm used to from this series.
I've read all the books multiple times, cling to every excerpt, and am eagerly awaiting Book 8. But, the Graphic Novel just didn't do it for me. I read it the day I got it, and then it went right in the library donation bag. Sorry.

Agreed, Michelle. Claire's boobs almost needed their own dialogue!!

And at times it was really hard to tell which man was which - they all looked basically the same. I kept going back and checking to see if I had the right guy.

I kept the GN, if only for the purpose of having a complete set of the series (more or less) in hardcover. But it's on the shelf and won't get a second read.

Just finished "The Exile'...What a disappointment!!!!! Sheeree, you are right about the boobs. and the male faces look alike. I also had a hard time following who was who. And, Claires' face seemed to change constantly. In one picture, she looked like an Avatar....

[> Here's a board set up for the sole purpose of discussing the GN: http://www.voy.com/144937/. Note, though, that Judie has asked that we post our negative opinions just once and not jump on the "I was disappointd, too" band wagon, as this site is all about what we LIKE about the books. -- TerriC, 12:13:02 10/10/10 Sun
