Actually... I once read a post-MI story that showed how Al and Sam met AFTER Sam's changing history..... It had Al drunk and depressed because he and Beth were having marriage troubles.

So, see... there are HUNDREDS of possible ways that Sam and Al could still meet. Al and Sam could almost be considered soul mates..... they're brothers in spirit.

The best proof that they still do meet is that Bellisario himself once said that they do.
