Subject: Sam is not my Jamie, but he is close in certain scenes... and it's just as I had imagined. Case in point: the fight between Claire & Jamie after he rescues her from BJR. I have watched this scene over and over again and it blows me away. The intensity in his face... his overall body language and words. This is JAMIE. But there are other times, not so much. Physically, Sam can look almost too pretty (let's face it, Sam is beautiful). My Jamie is not pretty, he is ruggedly sexy... not an ounce of femininity.

[> I also think I read Claire as more curt in the books than Cait plays her in the show (or, bitchier, if you will :) ). Same bitchiness when Davina reads Claire on the audio versions. Sam as Jamie is hit or miss for me - sometimes just perfect, sometimes, a bit too much eye blinking & eye brows pursed to show his deep thoughts or deep conflicts, seems out of place & breaks the moments for me.It doesn't, however, keep me from enjoying the show for its own merits. I love the show, I love the books - just in different ways sometimes. -- MaryJ, 06:48:19 05/01/15 Fri
